Basic Photography 101
One of a three part series.

If you are comfortable with the basic operation of your camera, it's time for the next step to understand what all the functions mean with your particular camera. Chris Ruhaak will help give you the basic knowledge of those camera functions and menu screens that may have you bewildered. You will walk away with a basic understanding of functions like White Balance, Manual Settings (on some cameras), Video functions (on some cameras) and various Auto Focusing techniques. You will also get an overview of when to use these settings for certain lighting conditions and subject matter.

This class is intended for beginner digital camera operators. Bring your camera and instruction manual. $75 (Maximum number of participants is 8)

A big thank you to Kerri, all of the dancers and parents at Kerri's Dance Studio for the overwhelming number of compliments we have received following this year's dance shoot.

This was our first year, and Kerri has a large studio, so it was a big job to process, so many photos in such a short period of time! But your positive feedback makes it all worth while!

We are going to take a few days now to enjoy some time with OUR little dancers! If you have any dance-related questions our assistant will be in Friday morning. Heartland Photos & Design (HP&D) is holding a Food Drive for an Easter fundraiser for Mohm’s Place in Council Bluffs, IA. A minimum of 2 cans of food (no glass please) will be required to have children’s portraits taken. Participants will receive a FREE photo session and a 5x7 digital file e-mailed to them or for a minimal fee a print can be made and mailed to them.

If you wish to purchase additional photos reduced prices are being offer for this day only. Photo sessions will be held at Mall of the Bluffs, near Barnes & Noble on March 28th, from 9am until 4pm. No appointments are necessary but are on a first come first serve basis throughout the day. A simple white background will be used to accommodate all styles of clothing.

Robert, Katherine, Isabel and Emma came in for a family portrait session this week. Chris had taken executive portraits at Robert's office and they were so happy with them they decided to give us a try!

Chris took some wonderful photos of these beautiful little girls. The one below is particularly nice and is done in vintage, which has been a popular choice in our studio this year.
